Images are not shown in 1.2
Posted Sunday, 18 April 2010 By Edward
I don't know why, but in version 1.2 images are not shown.
I did a clean install (even deleted the MySQL tables of the old version).
I use the default image directory: images/joaktree.
I made an gedcom from the latest version of Adlfaer, including the relation to images.

1.3 Create and upload pictures
...
Joaktree has no function for uploading your pictures.
...
You have to upload the pictures to these locations in order for them to be shown correctly.
Joaktree looks for a folder in the specified base folder with name of the folder being exactly the same as the ID of the person
If Joaktree does not find this folder, it will show default pictures.
Joaktree looks for a folder in the specified base folder with name of the folder being exactly the same as the name of the family tree
If Joaktree does not find this folder, it will show Joaktree pictures.
Joaktree looks for a folder in the specified base folder with name of the folder being exactly jt-images
Images still not visible

I tried the exact name of the family tree and jt-images. Both don't work.

Hello Edward,
I understand this is a problem, but I cannot reproduce it.
Dont you see anything, or is a text shown in stead of the images?
Which browser do you use? Is the problem the same with all browsers?
What is the URL of your site. Perhaps I can find out from the created HTML what is going wrong in your situation.
Kind regards,
Niels
I am also having this trouble.

Issue with operating system (server)
Posted Monday, 24 May 2010 By Niels
Hi James,
I went to your site and I did see your picture.
You probably have solved the problem already.
However I did notice the following. The source of the image is: src="/images/joaktree\I3\img_0090.jpg"
For some reason Windows operating system does not interpret a specific Joomla value (DS) correctly.
So instead of having all forward slashes, the last two slashes are backward slashes.
This turns out to be a problem for firefox. Internet Explorer and Chrome will show the pictures, but Firefox will not.
I will see whether I can find a solution for this issue.
Thanks for the quick response!

I see what you mean, I use firefox exclusively, and all I see is "A Joaktree Slideshow" where the image should be. however, after reading your response I tried it in IE, and the pic showed up. That is wierd! Anyway, thanks for the quick help. I love this application, and look forward to more from you. I am using this on a winXP server, using XAMPP if that helps you in narrowing down the problem. I am more than willing to help with any testing needed.
